SMITE - Sylvanus

More pencil SMITE art- this time it's Sylvanus. 8D

To me, his god art card remains to be one of my favorites because of how soft and kind looking the character was and how fitting that was to his personality being a peaceful god, and I personally wanted to capture that softness in my art. Not sure if I got it, but it's definitely better now than it was previously. x'D

To be completely honest, I started drawing this almost a month ago right after finishing Sun Wukong, but I gave up on it particularly because I felt there was something wrong but couldn't put my finger on what it was exactly. Turns out just I got his hair pointing in the wrong direction, missed out on a couple of details and messed up the lighting slightly.

At the end I decided to come back to the art because of a confidence boost I had after seeing my Sun Wukong art make it to the art show and get featured in the show favorites. >u<
It really made my morning watching the video and I'm still very honored about the feature.

Really surprised at the comments they had, like when they mentioned how small my sketchbook probably was and what tools I used- details on a normal circumstance I'd honestly not even notice. Ena also mentioned about my symmetry which I did not anticipate because I personally think it still needs work. x'DDD Probably should have mentioned on my previous deviation what tools I was using and etc though. x'D

I was using a Staedtler Graphite 2B pencil and my notebook is 13x21cm if anyone was wondering though LOL. Same can be said about this artwork.

Definitely going to try and do more of these SMITE pencil drawings as I go along. Probably might also do a couple of digital submissions when I can. This week's challenge though is really hilarious, so I'm definitely going to see what I can do for it as well. x'DD
