CSB-A: Artel Illeckal

Another one of my oc'ies from last year. Also being posted for OC example purposes. No points will be accumulated for this post.

Bestiae type: Jackal

Artel comes from a special group of Jackals, well known for travelling along the deforested areas of Terros that have begun to shift into deserts as centuries progressed. These Jackals also mastered the art of Sand manipulation thanks to the many years of being exposed to them. Unlike their other Terros bestiae brethren, these Jackals prefer to dress up in less armor as usual as they may cause them to overheat in the sun. Thanks to this and the Jackals' natural ectomorphic physiques, these Bestiae are among the very few speed typed units Terros offers.

Artel was raised to be among the Jackal's fighting forces and was even proving to be a promising warrior. However, during a fateful battle, he was caught in a blast that left his left arm useless, and due to the distance the blast took him, the few healing units available almost couldn't find him. When they finally did, it was already too late, and there was no way to bring back his arm to good condition. The only option the medics had left was amputation.

The trauma of the battle left him scarred in many ways, and soon it became questionable whether he could continue fighting for his country or not due to his condition. Things went for the better though once a healing master came to him and helped him go through his ordeal. The experiences Artel had with this healing master left a great impact on him in fact, so much that he decided to learn how to utilize the same kind of healing beads the master used and also take advantage of his Bestiae type's natural affinity to sand to replace his now lacking arm.

Artel still does make a formidable speed type unit, but he has made it a point to himself that his main purpose is to jump from comrade to comrade and support them by means of healing. Being speedy does come in handy when you want to avoid getting hit yourself while healing your constantly bashed partners. And if being speedy doesn't help, he has a sand arm to protect himself anyway.

Though he has come to accept what has happened to his arm, there are some moments he can't help but tell himself that if the medics came in quicker, he would still have it. It's no wonder people believe he does what he does just to stop the past from repeating itself to others.
