REAPPLYING FROM BETA

Character app for
:iconcombo-lock:

[Jan.28,2013]Second time's the charm, I guess. :iconmingplz: There are of course differences from the original, which is why I'm uploading another version. I'm thinking I didn't get in the first time because of his info mostly, so I decide to think him over a bit more for the peeps. |DDDD Too bad that mostly means more lengthy texts of info... Whoops... |D;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; Here's to hoping the idea justifies the length though. lel.

Like previously, I hope I get in. ;w;

[Jan.29,2013]EDIT#1: Changed some info, specifically his Ace name spell and last name. Some edits to his bio as well since I figured it would be hard for him to learn a family originated spell if his family couldn't be there to teach it to him. Also replaced the app with the new info and fixed art. =v=b

[Jan.29,2013]EDIT#2: Out of concern for those reading this app, I decided to condense his bio a little more. That huge block was actually starting to worry me about my chances of getting in at one point. :iconmingplz: You can read the longer version in this stash: sta.sh/02bnciptftxz

Only difference you're going to get honestly is naturally the length and perhaps the tone used.

[Jan.30,2013]EDIT#3: I decided to change the guardian mentioned in his bio into a Knight for personal reasons, and edited his personality. Looking back at how I rp'ied with him, it's definitely not completely aligned with what I wrote previously.

[Jan.30,2013]RANDOM BUT IMPORTANT. Totally forgot about the Grand Opening Promo. XDDD

Anyway- I honestly would refer everyone in CL if I could (LOLOLOL), but since he was the first one to ask, well... Yeah. |D

Just found out I'm not allowed to refer. |D Whoops.

[Feb.22,2013] OMG AKDJASKJKJKDAJS :iconcryforeverplz: Thank you so much for accepting me~~~ QwQ/

After all this time... :iconlazycryplz: //dies in her happy corner

    [Data Update] Character Info//

    Name:
      "Iorn" Valce Machidal
      [yorn, val-che, makidal]

    Nickname:
      Iorn or Prince

    :new:Level:
      3

    Age:
      900

    DOB:
      December 27

    Gender:
      Male

    Race:
      Khandroman

    Division:
      Guardian

    Quote(s):
      "Silence."
      "Hmph."
      "Mission achieved."
"I've made my mistakes, and I refuse to make them again."
      "Magnum... Impetus!"

    :new:Personality:
Upon a quick inspection, the first trait you would notice about him is how silent and stern he can be. You will almost never see him smile, even in situations that are under his favor. Though he doesn't lack a sense of humor, definitely it's hard to please him.

Iorn just takes a number of things seriously, especially his duties. If given a mission, not once will he approach it with inconsistent effort. Iorn is actually also very goal based, so if he has something in mind, he does what he can to achieve it and will at most times not accept failure as an answer. He is even willing to make heavy sacrifices just to ensure the success of a goal. However, he does know the limits of certain situations and can accept a moment to retreat, especially if the goal has become a lost cause.

He is a heavy thinker and actually enjoys obtaining new kinds of knowledge and wisdom from others, or perhaps even handing over his own to them. Despite his openness to knowledge and him being against ignorance however, ironically he more often than not closes himself off from this. It's not that he's hypocritical though. It's more of him knowing a normal conversation is one of the quickest way to know a person, in turn letting who he really is behind the mask be known personally.

Iorn is very much capable of acting quickly in situations, though he actually plans all of his moves through even if he does at times doesn't look like it. It could be argued he thinks that fast.

It's definitely not easy to earn a kind of strong relationship with Iorn as he isn't too trusting. He will go as far as ignoring you throughout a whole journey to let that be known in fact, and he will probably only talk to you when there is something important to be said, like a battle tactic or to ensure all people and things are ready for the 3 day mission for example. That or you bug him enough to make him speak, though that's only going to make him talk to shut you up.

Despite all this, Iorn is definitely not cold hearted as he seems. Leaving someone he is familiar with stranded and dead in the middle of no where in fact is something he will almost never do. If anything, he's more like the good Samaritan when it comes to extremely good deeds, and the little deeds he does are more indirect actions half the time. If he tells you not to follow him in his travels and to go the other way, chances are it's not that he doesn't want your company and make himself look like an ass but more of him not wanting anyone to get hurt from the things he might get involved in. He's not one to admit that though.

Iorn is very comparable to an onion so to speak. He's just a number of layers that need to be peeled before you can reach the person within. The moment you manage to do this and can make him finally see you as someone he can call a friend, he will remain loyal to you no matter what and be quite protective as well. It is rare however to reach this point, and you would have to really go through a lot with him before any of this happens.

:new: With his recent interactions with people, it has been noted that Iorn has become a little more open to talking and giving certain information about himself to others now. It's no surprise as well that he has given some people a certain kind of mutual trust, though as always he still speaks to them in his own quiet way albeit a little more interactive than usual.

      - Showing or admitting his flaws

      - People who are full of themselves

    Talents:
His sensitivity to pitch and tone is so ridiculous that he can never stand hanging around tone-deaf people when they suddenly decide to sing. Iorn thus makes an excellent musician and enjoys playing the flute, violin and piano. Singing on the other hand is something he doesn't usually do in public but also really enjoys doing. Iorn also has a knack for writing and reading and has the talent of finishing long novels in both aspects in less than a day.

    Bio:
Valce is the youngest of 5 brothers of the Machidal family, a family consisting mainly of bearers and keepers. This family was known for coming from the elite, and due to their riches and how Valce was least likely to inherit the family heirlooms, Valce wasn't required to do anything of major importance and was instead spoiled to no end. Due to this, he failed to choose his class when he came of age and did not make himself anywhere near productive. All that mattered to him was that he was of the Elite.

One of his servants thus took this to his advantage and challenged him to a duel, knowing Valce was not in a state to beat anyone, even him. Just as he thought, this servant won and earned his right to walk among the elite as one of them. Though this event should have taught Valce his lesson, much to people's surprise it did nothing, and Valce continued to be his prideful self and avoided admitting his loss. This then lead to his ridicule and his eventual expulsion from the house of the Machidal family.

Much to people's dismay, this act didn't change Valce either but instead made him want to return to his Elite life. He soon deduced that gaining his respect back would return him to his previous life, and he decides he could do this if he became a Guardian. Though in his training he was proving to be a skilled fighter and even soon became fitting enough as a Guardian, the intention behind his actions were clearly for the wrong reasons and did not impress the teachers enough to pass him. This made him question them for quite a long time, so much he became an actual nuisance to them.

Soon enough a certain knight not at all related to any of Valce's ordeals, but more or less knew him enough and saw the things this boy was making others go through, could no longer stand him and told him bluntly what he was doing wrong this whole time. He even did it in public to ensure he would set him straight. He told him of each and every flaw he had and why he was not fit to be a Guardian in his state. He also had to remind him that there was a reason he was kicked out of his own home, and that he would never be able to return after all that he did. Valce's pride was somewhat broken hearing his words, but it was still strong enough to make him not admit anything this knight said. Nevertheless it was hurtful enough that he ran away and went into hiding to think about what he was just told.

It was after this his skills were put to the test. While in hiding, he happened to come across an innocent family being attacked. He went on to defend the family with only the intention to prove the Knight wrong, but due to his choices in battle, he failed to save the parents and the youngest sibling of the Khandroman children. This event left him scarred for a while, for he knew if he was a Guardian by this point as he wanted, he would have been a disgrace, meaning everything the knight said was correct. It was really only then the full impact of what he had been doing all his life and why all the things that had happened to him struck his mind. This finally destroyed the young man's pride, and instead left him in a state of despair and embarrassment.

Valce at first planned to take his own life, as he thought there was no where to go from there, but much to his luck the same knight who was upfront with him in the past found him and told him there was a better way he could handle his life. Valce heeded his words for once, but he could not believe he could do it as himself. It was then he decided he wanted to become Iorn.

He went back into training, but this time he attempted to understand everything being a Guardian meant and actually did so. He was able to finally put his past behind him and everything he used to believe in and instead adopted the proper mindset for being a Guardian. When he finally became of his class, he began to wear his mask as a sign of his passage from out of his former life.

Time went by, and Iorn learns his Ace Spell from the same knight from before- a technique he developed to make up for a knight's lack of magic. Also, he soon learns about this opened gate to another world, and though he had no initial concern for it, there was something nevertheless drawing him to it. Eventually he decides to take his duties to this world, as for some reason something would tell him he could find a greater purpose here. Now he roams Earth, taking on many disguises and appearances as he continues to search for this greater purpose calling out to him.

    Trivia:
      - Iorn comes from a special Khandroman sub-race that could pass as ordinary humans if it weren't for their hair, which grows way quicker than usual, and/or third eye in the middle of their foreheads.
      - This sub-race of Khandromans treat their hair as an important symbol as it is used as a sign of ranking or strength among them. The longer it is, the stronger or higher up they are. If anyone from this sub-race wishes to lengthen their hair, they have to simply rise up in rank by either working hard for it or show their strength by challenging someone with longer hair. If they win the duel, their rank will raise to the rank the person he or she won against, and it will allow them to grow their hair to its new proper length.
      - Anyone (both outside and within the race) who manages to cut the hair of someone from this sub-race in a complete bulk automatically owns that person as a servant until his or her hair can grow back to the length it was originally at prior to cutting. This doesn't really last long though considering their hair growth speed.
      - Iorn once in a blue moon cuts his own hair, especially for some disguises wherein its natural length throws it completely off. Giving him roughly a week or even less will make it grow back to its original length anyway.
      - He is capable of laughing, though it is rare.
      - Iorn is a naturally neat person, so you will find him fixing things if he notices something out of order in a room.
      - He may occasionally disguise himself as a human so he can get to places with ease and to not draw any unwanted attention. It's really only then not having wings comes with an advantage for him unlike most khandromans. He always has to cover part of his face though, or else his eye will just give him away.
      - Iorn doesn't really go around saying his full name or at least doesn't want to.
      - For a while he was given the battle name "Prince of the Masquerade" due to his place among the elites and his constant mask wearing. Prince is of course the short cut of said name.
      - His third eye is capable of seeing sources of mana in the form of a glowing mist. This comes in handy for when he decides to use his Ace Spell.
      - His mask is actually a broken piece from one of the past helmets of the Knight who changed him. It was of course slightly altered to his liking.
      - Unlike most Guardians, Iorn intends to prioritize speed more than strength. This could partially be due to the classes his family is predominantly filled with.

      - None

    [Log Sequence] Battling//

    Contract Availability:
      Yes

    Powers:
[ACE] Magnum Impetus >>He can gather energy from the existing mana forces* around him and encase his weapon with them such that when he performs a slash, an energy wave follows in the slash's direction. The longer time he uses to gather energy unto his blade, he can either perform consecutive short energy slashes or a single strong energy slash. Also, the farther away the target is from the wave, the less lethal the wave becomes as it grows in bluntness and width while travelling longer distances.

*Mana Forces - This is the energy emitted from the act of using mana or anything that has a source of mana within. Mana forces come in abundance if mana is in constant use or if the mana within a source is large in quantity that it emits from it and/or "spills out" (i.e. Mages or Crystals and plants that contain mana within). Though Iorn can take the energy from his own mana force, it's not as much compared to full magic users or places that is swimming with mana, which is also why his energy waves are not so effective if he doesn't charge long enough.

      [ACTIVE]
Accipiter Visionem [1] >> (COMBAT) Increased precision and movement speed, dodge/miss +20%, critical +14% for 1 hour. (30mins cooldown)
Infrigidando Defensio [1] >> (ICE) More Defense for 30mins.
Nivis Angelo [1] >> (ICE) Grants user the ability to fly for 15mins. *Overuse may cause temporary stun on user.
Recta Incussus [1] >> (ELECTRICITY) Fires a long stream of concentrated shockage, passing through every target in a straight line. *5 targets MAX

    Weapon:
Grave Sabre - A sabre of extreme length; it has a custom made blade that enhances the effectiveness of his Ace spell, especially when encasing it with energy. Though the blade seems rather thin that it would almost be considered a rapier from a distance, a closer look reveals its true edges are simply transparent and almost like glass. The whole blade glows a certain blue hue whenever Iorn does his Magnum Impetus move.

    :new:Stats:
      Health: 110
      Magic: 90
      Attack: 260
      Defense: 190
      Speed: 240

    :new:Battling Style:
Iorn prioritizes on speed, accuracy and critical attacks, so it is common for him to be the one dishing out damage on opponents. Though he sacrifices health and magic, his ability to dodge makes up for this along with his moderate defense. Iorn would train his speed and accuracy by performing only a single slash every time he draws his blade despite its size and by returning it right away as soon as one slash is performed. In a normal battle situation, he tends to repeat this training by doing similar attacks of single slashes and constant pull and return movements. People have rumored that he is even capable of using his blade without his opponent actually seeing it. But rumors at the end are rumors. If he were to do this, he would sacrifice the strength of his attack by a margin, which is why he would consider this only for intimidation or as a final blow to a very weak opponent. At certain moments Iorn will abandon his blade's holster, and usually this is to allow him more strength based attacks and different stances to perform his magnum impetus special with.

When alone, he fights the usual way he does and will occasionally buff himself with the available spells he has to make up for his weaknesses in battle and enhance his strengths. As much as possible he will avoid going against too many people when on his own however. Though he is fast, nevertheless with a number of people targeting him, his concentration on his speed may falter considering how he has to dodge attacks from multiple sources. When with others, he may be more open to act as the opponents' target if there isn't someone who can handle blows better than he can, however he needs either a good buffer and healer for him to last longer, or someone to fight along side him who can land heavy blows as well to take out the enemy quicker.
